Together for Education

We believe that quality education is one of the most powerful resources a person can have.  For generations, education in Haiti has suffered the issues of underfunding and neglect.  Even in this modern era of education and technology, Haiti lags behind other developing countries.

Throughout Haiti, education is not affordable, it is not a priority, and it is not quality.  But things do not have to be this way.  With the support of our partners, we are making a difference in 4 communities through 4 schools.  In these communities, we provide a quality, affordable education and are working to make it a priority for all families.

Our Schools

Guibert:  Guibert is a farming village nestled amongst the mountains in the Ouest region of Haiti. The mountainsides are filled with gardens that both feed the families and fill the marketplaces.  The school services Pre-K through 9th grade, with a current enrollment of over 300 students.

Ferrier: Ferrier is a small, remote village that sits in the North-East region of Haiti near the border of the Dominican Republic. It is an incredibly dry and arid region where life is difficult.  The school services Pre-K through 11th grade, with a current enrollment of over 700 students

Marhothiere: Marothiere is also a farming village nestled amongst the mountains of the Ouest region of Haiti. It is more remote than Guibert but is also filled with lush gardens during the rainy season.  The school services Pre-K through 6th grade, with a current enrollment of over 400 students.

Drouin: Drouin is a remote ,rural village that sits in the Artibonite region of Haiti along the Artibonite River. The primary source of income for those living in Drouin is rice farming, which is financially insufficient.  Recent agriculture development projects have made a significant impact on families in the community with a noticeable increase in health, nutrition, and income.  The school services Pre-K through 6th grade, with a current enrollment over 450 students.

There is still work to be done.  We want to create as many opportunities as we can in each one of these communities.  Support for our Educational Development initiative will help us to continue to provide a quality, affordable education while working to improve and grow for the future.

Women’s Entrepreneurship Program: Espwa Vivan

A lack of access to education, job training, and opportunities, can create significant obstacles for Haitian women, especially single mothers and widows. All too often, these women find themselves living at the mercy of those that would use, abuse, and mistreat them. This is a horrifying problem all over the country, but is magnified in high population areas where options and jobs are even more limited. The Women’s Entrepreneur Program is focused on training and empowering women, especially widows and single-mothers, to create self-sustainable modes of income.

Espwa Vivan is a 9-month training program empowering women with educational instruction, marketable job skills, and entrepreneurial coaching. Each participant is assigned a mentor to disciple, guide and encourage them throughout the program. Upon graduation, the women are equipped with the necessary tools to launch successfully into a job or to create a new small business.

Espwa Vivan is bringing life changing training to these women. We believe that through this vital and life-giving program, many women will find a new purpose and a sustainable future. Our goal is to launch 300 self-sustainable female entrepreneurs by 2024, bringing change to their communities and hope to future generations.

Here’s how you can support:

  • $67 Sponsors 1 woman in Espwa Vivan for 1 month

  • $600 Sponsors 1 woman in Espwa Vivan for the entire program

Water Well Drilling Program

Access to clean water continues to be a significant issue all across Haiti. Close to 70% of the population does not have access to potable water. Waterborne illnesses, such as cholera or typhoid, cause more than half the deaths in Haiti each year. Contaminated water is one of the leading causes of childhood illness and the very high infant mortality rate in Haiti.

Through our water well drilling program, Together for Haiti will be able to provide access to clean, fresh water for the communities we serve and well drilling services for other organizations and businesses all across Haiti.

One of our primary objectives is to initiate projects and programs to create opportunities that provide sustainable income and economic growth for Haitians and for Together for Haiti. We also seek to invest in projects that will provide for the general health and well being of the Haitian people. Through our water well drilling program, Together for Haiti will provide jobs, sustainable income, and clean water for numerous Haitian communities.

Here’s how you can support:

  • $50 Provides clean water for 1 family

  • $55 Provides 1 hour of training for water well drilling crew member

Together for The Church

Empowered Pastors = Equipped Churches = Bold Faith = Changed Communities

We believe that the best way to impact a community is to invest in local leaders.  We believe that local pastors are the best leaders to invest in, who will in turn directly invest in their churches and their communities.  Through church planting efforts and annual training conferences, Together for Haiti is directly connected to a network of 10 local churches in Haiti and partners with a larger network of over 50 churches spread throughout the country.

By providing training and resources, our objective is to help empower these pastors and other church leaders to be agents of positive spiritual and social change in their communities.

Support for our Spiritual Development initiative will help us to continue to provide training and resources for pastors and leaders while seeking opportunities to invest in new churches and additional communities.

Here’s how you can support:

  • $25 provides study materials and continuing education resources for 1 pastor

  • $50 provides a 4-day training conference for 1 pastor

  • $400 a month provides staffing, resources and support for 1 local church

Economic Development: Together for Communities

We work to provide the training, tools, and resources necessary to restore dignity and opportunity in order to help the Haitian people thrive.  This means investing in life-giving and life-sustaining projects in the communities we serve.

Haiti is still an agriculture based society and the majority of families and communities survive on what they grow.  We invest in community projects that support and provide sustainable agriculture, job creation, and balanced nutrition.

Support for our Economic Development initiative will help us to continue to invest in community based projects that bring income, opportunity, and long-term sustainability to families and communities.

Here is how you can support:

  • $2500 provides a submersible pump, bringing new life and sustainable use to a deep water well

  • $2500 provides a fuel-powered, portable water pump to irrigate a farmer’s crops.  1 portable water pump can support 50 families.

  • $50 provides quality seeds for a local farming family
